The Accreditation Committee of the Market Technicians Association (MTA) administers a program of continuing education in an effort to raise the standards and to further the professionalism of the practice of technical analysis. The designation of Chartered Market Technician (CMT) is awarded to those who meet the qualifications and standards discussed at the CMT page of the MTA website.
The Market Technicians Association (MTA) is a professional not-for-profit national organization that represents bond, commodity, currency, equity, futures, options and other technicians. Membership currently stands at around 300 members and over 500 affiliates. Although most are located in the U.S., many other countries are represented. In addition, the MTA is a Founding Member of the International Federation of Technical Analysts, Inc. (IFTA).
